Niko Kovac: A Milestone with a Cherry on Top

At Hoffenheim, Niko Kovac sat on the BVB bench during a Bundesliga match for the 50th time. But there was more reason to celebrate for the 54-year-old, as the 3-2 win over TSG saw him take first place in a prestigious ranking.

Kovac's 33-9-8 record (wins-losses-draws) and 107 points earned since taking charge of BVB is a total no other head coach in club history has ever achieved through 50 games. Nor has anyone else been able to post a points-per-game average of 2.14.

Niko Kovac now sits above Thomas Tuchel (2.09), Lucien Favre (2.08), Marco Rose (2.03), Jürgen Klopp (1.91) and Ottmar Hitzfeld (1.86) in the club’s all-time ranking. (br)
