Villarreal up next! Photos from the final training session

On Tuesday evening (8 Sept., 9 p.m.), Borussia Dortmund kicks off the 2026–27 UEFA Champions League season with a home game against Villarreal CF. The final training session took place on Monday morning at the BVB training facility in Dortmund-Brackel.

Eighteen outfield players and three goalies took part in the session, the first 15 minutes of which were open to the media in front of the journalists and their cameras.

In addition to the already absent Giannis Konstantelias, Emre Can (both with knee injuries), and Nico Schlotterbeck (ankle), Ramy Bensebaini—who is suspended for Tuesday’s match—and Filippo Mane, who sustained a muscle injury during the 3-2 away win against TSG Hoffenheim, were also absent. In addition, Daniel Svensson and Kosta Karetsas trained individually.

On Tuesday evening, BVB will aim for its fourth consecutive competitive victory across all competitions. Remaining tickets for the Champions League home game against Villarreal CF are still available in the online ticket shop.
