BVB retain the next top talent
BVB managing director for sport, Lars Ricken, says: "Cole is a difference-maker in our U19s. His pace, his dribbling, his finishing and his mentality are qualities that make him special. We want to continue to promote his development, introduce him to the first team and let him train with the pros throughout preseason preparations."
Campbell, who holds both US and Icelandic citizenship, moved to BVB in July 2022. Since then, he has scored 18 goals and provided 19 assists in 52 games for the Black & Yellows' U17s and U19s.
"Cole is a very young and extremely exciting player who took a huge step forward with us last year. We see a lot of potential in him and are delighted that we will be taking the next steps together," emphasised sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
Cole Campbell says: "It was a dream come true for me when I moved to BVB. Now I'm living that dream and have been working since day one to keep improving. I am very happy and will continue to work hard to be successful at Borussia Dortmund."
