Final weekend in Dortmund
Public Viewing
The game, which kicks-off at 21:00 CEST, will be broadcast publicly at three locations in the city:
Fredenbaum-Platz (Eberstraße festival ground)
The square in the north of the city centre will be open from 16:00 CEST. After the gates open, there will be a pre-match programme, which will be broadcast on a 95 sqm screen. 20,000 spectators are expected and admission is free.
Hansaplatz
The pre-match programme will begin at 19:00 CEST on the central square in the city centre. A 53 sqm screen will be set up there. Admission is also free here. No glass containers are permitted in the city centre venue.
Westfalenhallen 3 and 4
Westfalenhallen 3 and 4 will open at 18:00 CEST, but food and drinks will be available on the forecourt beforehand. Live music and a DJ will entertain spectators until kick-off. The Westfalenhallen can hold 11,000 fans. Tickets will be available on the website from Wednesday (15 May, 10:00 CEST) for €9.09 each. Tickets for the car park can also be purchased in advance online.
Travel to and from the public viewing
On 1 June, the “Extraschicht” cultural festival and a large beer festival will take place at the same time on Friedensplatz, so public transport will be crowded at times. All DSW21 light rail lines will run longer and take passengers from the city centre to the outer districts until at least 01:00 CEST. The U45 will run to support the U41 to “Fredenbaum” or from “Fredenbaum” until after 01:00 CEST. On the U45/U46 lines, DSW21 will operate two-car trains every 10 or 15 minutes from 18:00 CEST onwards. Due to construction work, the U43 light rail trains coming from Dorstfeld/Stadtmitte will only run as far as Wambel/Pothecke. From the “Rüschebrinkstraße” stop, DSW21 will operate buses to and from Wickede.
Victory parade
A possible victory parade, during which the team bus will go past the Black & Yellow fans, would begin at 20:09 CEST on Sunday, 2 June. The route is similar to past trophy wins: the victory parade would start from the Westfalenhütte grounds and head towards Borsigplatz. After one and a half laps, it would leave the birthplace of BVB via Oesterholzstraße and head towards the city centre and the Wall. After covering a distance of more than four kilometres and lasting around four hours, the parade should reach its destination – the corner of Hoher Wall and Lange Straße – at around 20:09 CEST.
