Five goals in Augsburg, five against Cologne, five against Union Berlin – the Black & Yellow attack is looking more lethal than it has at any previous stage this season. "It's a lot of fun at the moment," said coach Lucien Favre at the press conference prior to the DFB Cup Round of 16 tie away to SV Werder Bremen (Tuesday at 20:45 CET). The Black & Yellows will be hoping the fun continues at the Weser Stadium, where they have a score to settle with their hosts in the cup.

It was almost exactly a year ago that BVB and SVW faced off in the DFB Cup Round of 16. The Green & Whites won that energy-sapping encounter at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK 4-2 on penalties following a 3-3 draw. This time Borussia are away, although they haven't won in Bremen in over three years. But despite their struggles in recent visits to the Weser, BVB go into this one on significantly better form. Lucien Favre knows that too. "Werder are going through a tough spell. We've won our last three matches and all the goals give us additional self-belief." For Favre, there is no distinction to be made between the DFB Cup and the Bundesliga. "My primary aim is to keep winning."

The Swiss tactician, who – the starting debut of Erling Haaland aside – fielded an unchanged team against Union, may make several changes for the midweek clash. "I still don't know exactly but it's possible we'll rotate a little," said Favre, who explained that Dan-Axel Zagadou could be an option following his recovery from a muscle fibre injury. Only Thomas Delaney will miss the clash with his ex-club.

Favre also would not be drawn on whether new signing Emre Can will make the BVB squad for the first time against Werder. "He trained for the first time on Sunday; I need to speak with him again about how he's feeling. But it's possible that he could be involved tomorrow," he said optimistically.
