Borussia Dortmund are heading to Leipzig for their Bundesliga away match, brimming with confidence after three wins in a row. Kick-off for the game on Bundesliga Matchday 6 is at 15:30 CET on Saturday 10 September.

Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi, whose seasons have been interrupted by injuries in recent weeks, are stepping up their workload every day and will also take part in some of the team training on Thursday. "But it's also about the day after that," said BVB coach Edin Terzic. "How they respond and whether they are still pain-free. We will have to wait and make a decision at short notice." Thorgan Hazard is in a similar situation. "The medical assessments have shown that it is nothing serious – just a strain. But I'm sure it will be touch-and-go for Saturday." The midfielder's muscle seized up in the match against Copenhagen.

The Champions League opener on Tuesday was BVB's third win in a row, having secured back-to-back 1-0 wins in the Bundesliga (in Berlin and at home to Hoffenheim). Dortmund currently lie in second place in the table, level on points with the league leaders SC Freiburg, who are top because their goal difference is one goal better.

Leipzig are currently 11th in the league. On Tuesday, Leipzig were beaten 4-1 at home to Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League – a defeat which saw head coach Domenico Tedesco lose his job. His replacement at Leipzig is none other than Marco Rose, who was BVB head coach last season. "I am delighted that Marco is back in the Bundesliga. Neither of us would have expected to see each other again so soon," said Terzic, whose preparations for the game have been made a little more challenging as a result of the change of coach. "I watched the videos of their games before the change of head coach became official. That changes things a bit." The BVB coach points out, however, that Leipzig have already tried "many things and different formations over the past few weeks. It wasn't easy to prepare for the game anyway."

He said it was now a question of focusing even more on his team's own performance: "We have managed to keep plenty of clean sheets, defending compactly as a team to allow our opponents few chances on goal. We took a big step in the right direction." He also said his team had improved as an attacking force: "We are very pleased with how often and how well we have created clear chances in the past three games. On Tuesday in the Champions League, we managed to score the second and third goals early on. We are on a really good run and want to build on that."

Away from home, the Black and Yellows are still undefeated, and have been able to win both Bundesliga games on the road, beating Freiburg 3-1 and Berlin 1-0. They also celebrated a 3-0 win in the DFB-Pokal at 1860 Munich in the team's first competitive match of the season. And BVB are looking to bring three points back to Dortmund after another successful away trip.
