It was a painstaking evening of football that gave Borussia Dortmund three well-deserved points, despite the result looking like a clear 3-0 victory over Greuther Fürth. "We made life difficult for ourselves. It was a messy game from us," remarked Julian Brandt.

"It wasn't very nice to watch. I'm just hoping you can put it under the category of It happens," added the midfielder, who also emphasised: "But not everything is bad. We scored three goals and kept a clean sheet." Gregor Kobel agreed, stating: "It's always a great feeling for me to keep a clean sheet. But there are a few things we have to do better."

After the 32nd game since the beginning of August, for national team players, coach Marco Rose also said: "We looked erratic, stale, and physically not up to scratch. The game was too uneven. We made too many simple mistakes." Nevertheless, it was a good result, and BVB are second in the table. They're six points behind first, but also six points above third. Rose added: "We're satisfied with the result after what's been a difficult first half to the season."

BVB have the opportunity to increase their points tally to 37 on Saturday in Berlin, which would also be the third highest value from over the past ten years at the same point in the season. "We have to be focused on the game in Berlin, and we want to take away the positives," announced Brandt.  (br)
