BVB forward Youssoufa Moukoko made his senior international debut for Germany on Wednesday evening at the age of 17 years and 361 days. Moukoko was included in the starting XI for the DFB's 1-0 (0-0) friendly victory over Oman in Muscat. At the age of 17 years and 361 days, he is the youngest player to debut for Germany since Uwe Seeler, who was 16 days younger than Moukoko when he made his international bow in 1954.

Youssoufa Moukoko was responsible for one of the few noteworthy moments in the first half of an uneventful match against Oman, the striker narrowly missing the chance to score his first international goal when he struck the upright in stoppage time. Moukoko remained in the changing rooms at half-time and was replaced by Niclas Füllkrug, who was also making his DFB debut and later scored the winning goal (80). Nico Schlotterbeck, another Borussia Dortmund player, entered the fray after the restart, with Julian Brandt introduced as a 65th-minute substitute.

Moukoko, Schlotterbeck and Brandt are joined in the Germany squad for the upcoming World Cup, which begins on Sunday, by Niklas Süle and Karim Adeyemi. Germany will play their opening game of the tournament against Japan next Wednesday (kick-off 14:00 CET), when Moukoko & Co. could be handed their next minutes in a DFB shirt.

Salih Özcan was part of the Turkish national team squad that played a friendly against Scotland on Wednesday evening (2-1) and came off the bench at the start of the second half. Türkiye are not involved at the World Cup. Özcan will return to Dortmund following the upcoming international against Czechia (19/11 at 18:00 CET).
