The recurring theme among the BVB coach and players after the 2-1 defeat in Augsburg was the individual errors that allowed the home side to score twice. "The opposition had practically no chances and yet we lost 2-1," bemoaned a disappointed Lucien Favre.

Lucien Favre: "We could've won today. We had our opportunities to score goals but we didn't take them. The opposition had practically no chances and yet we lost 2-1. Every mistake led to a goal. That's a shame. We always want to win. We completely unnecessarily lost the match. We made a mistake, 1-0. But then we should've kept our calm and shouldn't have made a second error."

Marco Reus: "It's an extremely bitter defeat. We gifted them the goals through two individual mistakes. Then it's obviously difficult to come back when you're 2-0 behind. We had three or four good opportunities but then we made the individual errors and then they obviously set up camp in defence. We only have ourselves to blame, because you cannot give the ball away so easily and invite the Augsburg players to score goals. If you have a lot of possession, it's important to get yourselves into the right spaces. We knew that Augsburg would cover a lot of ground, that they'd move a lot. We had enough opportunities to get the goals. We cannot allow such mistakes to happen or otherwise you'll end the match on the losing side."

Roman Bürki: "I'm disappointed with the way we conceded two more goals tonight. It was unnecessary. Up top, we either didn't have enough penetration or our attempts failed because Kobel made some very good saves. We're currently conceding some curious goals that are actually easy to defend. For some reason, we're not managing it right now."

Matthias Sammer: "A draw would've been deserved at least. The match is decided mentally, more mentally than it is physically. You need to reach 90-95 percent; 60-70 percent isn't sufficient."
