Eight-time German champions Borussia Dortmund have signed Eric Oelschlägel. The 22-year-old goalkeeper joins the club from SV Werder Bremen, where he has made 67 appearances for the U23s in the third tier over the past three years.

Oelschlägel, who was a non-playing member of the Germany squad that finished runners-up at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, has signed a contract with BVB until 30 June 2019. He will mainly gain match practise for the second team in the Regionalliga West, as well as serving as the third goalkeeper behind Roman Bürki and Marwin Hitz in the first-team squad coached by Lucien Favre.
