Jobe Bellingham fired the second rebound just wide of the left-hand post (6). Shortly afterwards, Maxi Beier won the ball on the right wing and Guirassy forced Backhaus into another save from six yards out as the keeper acrobatically tipped the ball over the crossbar (7).<\/p>\n<p>Werder frequently played long balls, but there were a few moments of excitement in the BVB penalty area, such as in the 19th minute when Borussia struggled to clear the ball, or Amos Pieper\u2019s headed goal from an offside position (28). He then found himself on the right-hand side of the penalty area and attempted to slot the ball past the left of the onrushing Backhaus. But Bremen\u2019s goalkeeper dived incredibly fast and stretched his right arm far enough out to make a superb save (46). By the time he had parried Guirassy\u2019s header (52), he had established himself as the best player on the pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Nico Schlotterbeck played a long diagonal ball out to Julian Ryerson on the right wing to set up the long-overdue opening goal.
