BVB to forego training camp: Winter preparations in Dortmund

BVB will prepare for the resumption of the season in Dortmund at the beginning of 2025. In contrast to previous years, the first team will not hold a training camp abroad during the winter break.

"We only have a short break between the last game of the year and the resumption of the Bundesliga in January. The workload for our players is already very high. And as the exact date of our match against Leverkusen is still uncertain, we have decided – after weighing up all the factors – to complete our winter preparations at our training ground," explained sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

The final competitive match of this year against VfL Wolfsburg will only take place shortly before Christmas (20-22/12), with the Bundesliga already set to resume on the weekend of 10-12/01/25. BVB will then host Bayer Leverkusen in the first competitive game of the New Year.
