Interview
"Proud and humbled" – An interview with Julian Ryerson
Julian Ryerson on his feelings after the contract extension:
"It's similar to how it was back then. I'm still proud and humbled. I'm simply delighted that I can continue to be here. I feel comfortable here. I enjoy every matchday, especially when we play at home. That's why I'm at BVB, and I want to have this feeling for as long as possible."
…the early days:
"When I came here, I wanted to play straightaway. And I did after three days and two sessions. I immediately played 90 minutes. It started the right way. And fortunately it has stayed that way too. I have developed since I've been here. I have always seen a development and I hope that it continues to be like that. I don't feel finished as a footballer; I haven't reached my maximum level yet. I can always continue to develop."
…his goals against Hoffenheim and Bayern:
"I believe Hoffenheim was a bit better. But the goal against Bayern was also important because we finally got a win there again. I didn't feel good that day, I was struggling with myself. That made it a bit nicer."
…his former club Union Berlin:
"I was there for four and a half years. I experienced a lot there. It was a great time. And I'm still in contact with the people at Union."
…the Stadion An der Alten Försterei:
"The atmosphere at the stadium is different. Many people hate playing there. But I love it because I usually win when I'm on the pitch there, even if it's with BVB. That's why I'm simply looking forward to it I hope we score lots of goals but do not concede."
