Fan information for the away game in Mainz

On Saturday (9 November), BVB will travel to the MEWA ARENA to face 1. FSV Mainz 05 (kick-off 15:30 CET). Around 3,500 BVB fans will make the trip to Mainz to support their team. Below is a summary of the most important information for travelling fans.

Arrival

Arrival by car:

  • There are no parking spaces available for cars at the MEWA ARENA. Instead, the free Park & Ride car park at the exhibition centre (Genfer Allee in 55129 Mainz) can be used. From there, numerous shuttle buses will take you to the stadium.
  • In Mainz there is an environmental zone that may only be entered with a green sticker. The exhibition car park is not affected by this.

Arrival by bus/nine-seater:

  • Parking spaces for buses (P9) are available at the guest block. The cost is €20 per bus and €10 for each 9-seater.
  • Access is only via Koblenzer Strasse (Lerchenberg exit).

Arrival by train/public transport:

  • A shuttle bus runs from the main train station to the stadium.
  • Take the 51 or 53 tram to the Jakob-Heinz-Strasse/Arena stop.
  • Take the 54, 55, 56, 58, 62, 74, 91 or 93 bus to the Kisselberg stop.

Admission

  • The stadium opens two hours before kick-off, i.e. at 13:30 CET. 
  • The away section is located in blocks H, I (seats) and J (standing room).
  • The material control will take place in an area separated by a fence on P9 directly next to the away entrance.

Permitted fan paraphernalia:

  • Three megaphones
  • Five drums (open, visible)
  • 15 large flags (pole length over 2m)
  • Flags with a stick length of up to 2m
  • Double holder
  • Fence flags (may only be hung up in a limited area)

Permitted items:

  • Tetra packs up to 250ml
  • Bum bags

Prohibited items:

  • Backpacks and bags larger than DIN A4 (backpacks and bags can be handed in free of charge at the guest entrance)
  • Professional cameras with interchangeable lenses with a focal length of more than 200mm and additional interchangeable lenses, as well as video cameras.

Stadium

  • There is no set alcohol limit, but people who are visibly intoxicated will be refused entry to the stadium.
  • In the away area, you can pay with a debit card, EC card or credit card. It is also possible to pay with Google Pay and Apple Pay. Cash payments are not possible.
