Draw for the FIFA Club World Cup on Thursday – BVB TV to broadcast

The draw for the FIFA Club World Cup will take place in Miami on Thursday (5/12, 19:00 CET). FIFA has now announced the pots for the draw. BVB TV will broadcast the draw live with German and English commentary.

The FIFA Club World Cup will take place in a new format for the first time in 2025, with Borussia Dortmund set to take part. The tournament will begin at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on 15 June 2025, with the final to take place at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 13 July (overview of the venues). For the group stage draw, FIFA has divided the 32 participating clubs into four pots containing eight clubs each.

Pot 1: Manchester City (England), Real Madrid (Spain), FC Bayern Munich (Germany), Paris Saint-Germain (France), Flamengo (Brazil), Palmeiras (Brazil), River Plate (Argentina), Fluminense (Brazil)

Pot 2: Chelsea (England), Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan (Italy), FC Porto (Portugal), Atletico Madrid (Spain), Benfica (Portugal), Juventus (Italy), FC Salzburg (Austria)

Pot 3: Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Ulsan HD (South Korea), Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad AC (Morocco), CF Monterrey (Mexico), Club Leon (Mexico), Boca Juniors (Argentina), Botafogo (Brazil) 

Pot 4: Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan), Al Ain (United Arab Emirates), Espérance Tunis (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Pachuca (Mexico), Seattle Sounders (USA), Auckland City (New Zealand), Inter Miami (USA)

There will be eight groups containing four teams each. Clubs from the same country cannot meet in the group phase. The top two teams in each group will reach the round of 16; from then on, it will continue in a knockout format.

The draw will be broadcast as a watch party on YouTube. Julian Brandt will be a guest on the German stream. The broadcast starts at 18:45 CET.
