Brandt and Schlotterbeck are Can's new deputies

Julian Brandt is Borussia Dortmund's new second captain, while Nico Schlotterbeck is the new third captain. BVB coach Nuri Sahin announced this in the aftermath of the friendly against Villarreal.

Team captains Emre Can, Brandt and Schlotterbeck are joined by Marcel Sabitzer and Gregor Kobel on the Team Council. Goalkeeper Kobel previously served as a second captain last season. "I held good talks with Greg and told him that I wanted to be connected to the pitch via an outfield player," Sahin said, before adding: "I can't reach Gregor in a full stadium. But I want to be able to reach the captain quickly. The decision does not change his importance."
