Marco Reus becomes new BVB ambassador
His connection to BVB goes back more than two decades. From 1995 to early 2005, Marco Reus progressed through the Black and Yellow youth teams before returning to BVB in the summer of 2012 as “Germany's Footballer of the Year“ from Mönchengladbach. Reus was a pivotal part of the team that stormed into the UEFA Champions League final in London in 2013. He won the DFB-Pokal twice, lifting the trophy as captain in 2021. For five years, the attacking midfielder served as Borussia Dortmund team captain.
After bidding farewell to BVB in 2024, Reus moved to Major League Soccer and celebrated the championship in his first season with his new club, LA Galaxy. The midfielder remains under contract in Los Angeles until the end of 2026. Even while continuing his playing career, Marco Reus will now represent Borussia Dortmund at various events as an ambassador.
