Women's EURO 2029 in Germany – Dortmund involved

The 2029 Women's European Championship is coming to Dortmund! UEFA has awarded the German Football Association (DFB) the right to host UEFA Women's EURO 2029. The decision was taken by the UEFA Executive Committee at its meeting in Nyon on Wednesday. This means that a Women's European Championship will be held in Germany for the first time since 2001.

SIGNAL IDUNA PARK in Dortmund will be one of eight venues hosting the tournament. The other cities are Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hannover, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich and Wolfsburg. Denmark, Sweden, Poland and Portugal were also in the running to host the tournament.

Under the slogan of the German bid, ‘WE29 – Together WE Rise’, various campaigns were held in the run-up to the decision, which BVB also supported.

BVB Managing Director Svenja Schlenker: “We are looking forward to the tournament with great anticipation and are proud to have parts of the 2029 Women’s European Championship here with us in Dortmund and to be able to host it in our stadium. This tournament is a great opportunity to take women’s football another step forward.”
