BVB announce permanent signing of Daniel Svensson

Borussia Dortmund have signed defender Daniel Svensson on a long-term contract. The left-back, who has been on loan from FC Nordsjaelland since the beginning of the year, signed a contract on Wednesday which will run until 30 June 2029, with BVB exercising their option to buy Svensson as agreed in the loan agreement with the Danish top-tier club.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl says: "Daniel has fully met our expectations from day one. He settled in quickly and immediately boosted the team with his performances. His intensity and flexibility suit our game very well and give us many options. On top of that, Daniel is also a good guy and an exemplary professional. It therefore made sense for us to commit him to Borussia Dortmund on a permanent basis."

Svensson joined the Black & Yellows at the beginning of February this year and has since featured in 15 competitive matches, starting 11 of them. The left-back scored one goal and set up two others.

"I've been very well received here and was able to integrate quickly into the team. I am very pleased that I will continue to play for Borussia Dortmund in the future. It's a great club with great fans. My goal is that we can celebrate success together here. I will work hard every day to achieve this," explained the Sweden international.
