Adeyemi and Gross in the starting line-up as Germany defeated by France

The Germany national team finished fourth in the Nations League Final Four on home soil. After losing 2-1 to Portugal in the semi-finals, Julian Nagelsmann's side lost 2-0 to France in the third-place play-off on Sunday. Dortmund players Karim Adeyemi and Pascal Gross started the game, while Felix Nmecha and Waldemar Anton were unused substitutes.

France took a 1-0 lead in Stuttgart shortly before half-time through captain Kylian Mbappe (45). Germany pushed forward in search of an equaliser but conceded a second goal in the 84th minute, scored by Michael Olise. Gross and Adeyemi were no longer on the pitch when the second goal was scored, after being substituted off in the the 73rd and 78th minute respectively.
