Following the group matches at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, BVB will face CF Monterrey in the Round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup (1 July, 21:00 local time / 2 July, 3:00 CEST) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the capital of the US state of Georgia. Located in the heart of Atlanta, just a few minutes' walk from Centennial Olympic Park, it is one of the most striking stadiums in the United States. As the home of the Atlanta Falcons (American football) and Atlanta United (football), it regularly hosts major sporting events. Here you can learn more about the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

01 Home to two teams
The stadium is home to the NFL franchise Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC, who compete in Major League Soccer. It was designed to provide the ideal setting for both American football and football, from the turf to the spectator experience.

02 Opening and construction costs
Mercedes-Benz Stadium was opened on 26 August 2017 with a friendly match between the Atlanta Falcons and the Arizona Cardinals, replacing the Georgia Dome, which had been the Falcons' home until then. The stadium cost around 1.4 billion US dollars to build, making it one of the most expensive stadiums in the world.

03 Architectural highlight
The most striking feature of the stadium is its roof, which resembles a camera lens. It consists of eight rotating panels and can be completely opened or closed in the space of eight minutes.

06 Multifunctionality
In addition to sporting events, the stadium also hosts concerts, conventions and other major events. These include concerts by superstar Beyoncé, Super Bowl LIII (2019) and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

07 Capacity and expansion
