On Monday evening, Borussia Dortmund advanced to the second round of the DFB-Pokal with a 1-0 win at Rot-Weiss Essen. Shortly before the final whistle, Yan Couto had to be carried off the pitch after a bad challenge. On Tuesday, the defender issued a statement addressed to BVB fans.
