Rain in Marbella, tempo on the pitch: BVB carry out intensive session

On Sunday morning, the second public training session for fans took place as part of Borussia Dortmund's training camp in Marbella. Due to heavy rain, the training session had to be moved to the Marbella Football Centre. The BVB fans came out regardless and waited patiently under their umbrellas.

The influence of the weather was also evident on the pitch: the players were wrapped up warmer than on the previous day – hats, gloves and scarves were in high demand. Waldemar Anton, who had recently been injured and had already announced his return, was part of the training group. Gregor Kobel was absent due to individual load management: “I did a lot in the gym today, I’ll probably be on the pitch tomorrow.” (You can find more statements from the goalkeeper here.)

After the warm-up programme, the ball quickly came into play, and the fans watching on the sidelines got their money’s worth: there was high intensity during an exercise on a small field, when three teams had to take turns playing as many passes in succession as possible. The subsequent attacking exercise was three against two on one large and two small goals, so the spectators were treated to lots of shots and goals. The session ended with a game on a smaller pitch, before the players signed autographs and posed for selfies in the rain. (cr)
