Postgame Reactions: “An Important Win for the Team”
Ole Book (in the mixed zone): “When you travel this far — and not just us, but the fans as well — it only makes it sweeter to get the three points, which were also critical because of our loss in Norway. Of course, it feels good to get a victory after three winless games. We definitely could have helped ourselves out today by being more ruthless. On the other hand, we took a significant step forward in terms of the way we played football.”
Niko Kovac (on DAZN): “We played a really good attacking game today and created a lot of chances. If we had even capitalized on half of them, we no doubt would have won by three or four goals. We made small mistakes here and there, which allowed our opponent back into the game. It was a tough battle, but totally deserved.”
Serhou Guirassy (on DAZN): “I’m obviously happy with the win because it was so important for the team. The last two games were tough, which is why it was so important to win today. And that’s exactly what we did. Congratulations to the entire team, and thanks also to the fans for their support. But we missed a few chances. If we can all be consistent, I believe we can achieve a lot this season.”
Joey Veerman (in the mixed zone): “We created a lot of chances. Compared to last week, I think we played a really good game today — in terms of chances and our style of play. But yes, we have to close out the game. We should have scored a lot more goals.”
Gregor Kobel (on DAZN): “In the end, it was harder than it needed to be. We could have scored a goal or two earlier to make the game a bit more comfortable. We created a ton of chances — no doubt the most of any game we've played in recent weeks — so that's a very positive takeaway. In the end, it’s a bit of a bummer we couldn't settle down a bit by sealing the win earlier.”
