Book: “It’s One Thing After Another”
Ole Book on Saturday night’s 1-0 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt:
“It was definitely well-deserved! Sure, it felt a bit like a hard-fought victory. But we built up more and more pressure in the second half and didn’t allow anything at the back, so it was definitely a well-deserved win!"
... the next Bundesliga match without conceding a goal:
“We can definitely see that we have very, very good stability. That’s something that set the team apart last season as well. We’re working on areas where we want to play even better soccer. I also think you can already see a difference. We’re already a bit more dominant than we were at times last season. But you have to expect that things won’t all click into place overnight, especially since we’re also dealing with some absences in the creative department.”
… on the past week’s successes in Baku and against Frankfurt:
“Of course, we feel much better now that we’ve secured two very important wins. In the Champions League, it was crucial to keep our chances of reaching the Round of 16 alive. And in the league, it’s also a great feeling to be at the top—at least for one night.”
… on the upcoming week with matches against Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich:
“These are very important games for us, absolutely. But we said the same thing before the last few games, too—it’s one game after another. We’re currently playing every three days, which is an enormous strain. That’s why it’s all the more impressive that we were able to step up our game as the match progressed yesterday. We know we don’t really have a break. The players know what’s coming our way next week.”
… the special challenge in the DFB Cup on Tuesday:
“In the DFB Cup, it’s a knockout tournament. You just have to give it your all. You can’t take anything for granted in the Cup over the next few weeks. Of course, it’s a good chance for us to possibly win a title. We all know that, which is why the game is so important to us. But the lads are used to playing soccer under pressure.”
