Borussia Dortmund and Street Soccer USA Launch World Street Series in LA

Borussia Dortmund , in partnership with Street Soccer USA and with support from the LA Galaxy, successfully debuted the Street Soccer USA LA Cup, marking a major milestone in the newly introduced BVB World Street Series. For one full day, L.A. Live was transformed into a vibrant street soccer arena, drawing thousands of players, families, and fans.

 

Downtown Los Angeles got a bold Black & Yellow makeover as Peacock Place evolved into more than just a tournament venue. A stadium-like setup with custom-built BVB courts and towering LED screens turned the space into a high-energy urban football stage, blending the intensity of sport with the spirit of Los Angeles street culture.

From early morning through the evening, the event delivered both high-level competition and a festival-like atmosphere. More than 300 youth participants aged 10–14, alongside adult and company teams, competed in fast-paced, small-sided matches. The Youth Cup, presented by Borussia Dortmund, stood out as a centerpiece of the day, giving young players a unique opportunity to showcase their talent on a prominent stage in downtown Los Angeles.

Beyond the matches, the LA Cup offered a dynamic mix of sport, music, and culture. Live DJ performances set the tone throughout the day, turning the venue into an open-air celebration. A special highlight was the appearance of BVB legend Patrick Owomoyela, who engaged with fans, supported players on-site, and brought the spirit of the Black & Yellow club directly to LA.

Following four successful years in New York City’s Times Square, the Los Angeles event marked the next chapter in the expansion of the BVB World Street Series. With its West Coast debut, the series continues to grow as a global platform connecting Borussia Dortmund’s street soccer heritage with communities in major cities worldwide.
