300 Children, BVB First team, and Projection Mapping: The World Street Series in Tokyo
In front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building on Thursday, Borussia Dortmund transformed Tokyo into a black-and-yellow street soccer festival. Around 300 children took center stage at the street tournament. The team’s new away jersey was also unveiled in spectacular fashion.
The “World Street Series” is designed not only to give children access to soccer but also to provide them with authentic experiences on an international stage. The highlight: BVB first team players took to the field in person, interacted with the young fans, and created moments that will likely remain unforgettable for many of the children.
Illuminated Building Projection
The event concluded with a light show featuring a large-scale building projection: an exclusive “project mapping” bathed the facade of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Black and Yellow. Images of the World Street Series, the South Stand, and the new away jersey were projected onto the facade. The city hall is one of the Japanese capital’s most famous landmarks and, with nearly 14,000 square meters of projection surface, is the world’s largest permanent architectural projection mapping display.
From Los Angeles to Tokyo
Tokyo marks the second chapter of the BVB World Street Series. Following the successful kickoff in Los Angeles in April 2026, BVB is now continuing the format’s international tour in Asia.
