Guirassy Extends Streak, Ties BVB Legend

The game at Hoffenheim marked the first time since April 2025 that Serhou Guirassy has recorded both a goal and an assist in a Bundesliga match. The previous time also took place in a 3-2 away win over TSG.

The 30-year-old forward, who has been with Borussia Dortmund for two years. is catching fire yet again, having bagged two goals in two games so far this season. On Tuesday, he could make his 100th competitive appearance for the Black & Yellow. 99 games in, he has an incredible 62 goals to his name, trailing only Erling Haaland and Lothar Emmerich.

Haaland scored a staggering total of 86 goals in 89 competitive matches for BVB. Emmerich found the net 64 times in his first 100 Bundesliga matches for Borussia Dortmund.

For his part, Guirassy has scored 40 times for Borussia in Bundesliga play. That’s exactly on par with Norbert Dickel, although Guirassy only needed 65 games to reach that total while Dickel needed 90.

In the 3-2 away win at Hoffenheim, Guirassy played a part in six of Dortmund’s eight shots. In the 61st minute, he scored to cut his team's deficit to 2-1. Then, five minutes later, he set up Fabio Silva for 2-2. Serhou Guirassy has scored a goal in each of his past five visits to Hoffenheim. (br)
