Reus bids farewell with a masterclass

Borussia Dortmund recorded a comfortable 4-0 win against relegated Darmstadt 98 in Marco Reus' final Bundesliga match. The 34-year-old paved the way for victory himself with an assist and a dream free-kick. After the interval, substitutes Julian Brandt and Donyell Malen got on the scoresheet and sealed a deserved margin of victory based on the shot count of 21 to seven. The match facts.

Masterclass: On his 294th and final Bundesliga appearance for BVB, Marco Reus signed off with a goal (a dream free-kick) and registered the most shots of any player (five). He was substituted in the 82nd minute to cheers from the entire stadium and a guard of honour by his team. Reus was involved in 12 goals this season (six goals, six assists). He amassed almost half of those scorer points in the last two home games against Augsburg and Darmstadt (two goals, three assists). It was the eighth time he has converted a direct free-kick in the Bundesliga – all of them coming in a BVB shirt. Of all the current Bundesliga players, only Wolfsburg's Maximilian Arnold has (one) more to his name.

Top goalscorer: With 13 goals, Donyell Malen's is BVB's outright top goalscorer in this Bundesliga season. He has scored almost as often as he did in his first two seasons combined (14 goals).

Most scorer points and super sub: Julian Brandt scored his seventh goal of the season, having also registered 11 assists. He was therefore directly involved in 18 goals, making him Borussia's top scorer after Niclas Füllkrug, and set a new personal record for a season. Julian Brandt scored his 65th Bundesliga goal and his 15th as a substitute; no other current Bundesliga player has scored so many goals from the bench.

Perfect passer: Right-back Julian Ryerson did not misplace a pass.

Good set-pieces: 18 goals from dead balls is a tally surpassed only by Bayern and Bayer.

Dangerous defenders: Ian Maatsen's goal was the 12th scored by a BVB defender in the Bundesliga this season. That means Borussia have the most dangerous defence in the league. Maatsen's goal was also the 200th goal in the Bundesliga under Edin Terzic.

No slip-ups: Borussia Dortmund have not lost a game against the bottom club in the Bundesliga for over seven years and have registered nine wins and four draws since then.
