U17 champions honoured before game against Darmstadt

Before the home game against SV Darmstadt 98, the Borussia Dortmund U17s were honoured for winning the German B-Junior Championship last week.

The Black & Yellow U17s lifted the German Championship last Sunday. They claimed a 3-2 victory against Bayer Leverkusen after extra-time in an exciting final. It is the eighth title that the Black & Yellows have won, making the club the record champions at B-Junior level.

The team have now been honoured for their special success on the sidelines at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK prior to the first team's Bundesliga match by BVB Managing Director Lars Ricken, Eddy Boekamp (Sporting Director of the Youth Performance Centre) and the BVB Executive Board consisting of Dr Reinhold Lunow, Silke Seidel and Bernd Möllmann.

Marco Lehmann's boys, who had the trophy with them, were subsequently lauded by the South Stand. (cr)

Against this backdrop, Dortmund played more attractively than FC in the opening stages.
