BVB
Since February 2024, Luca Reggiani has been wearing the black and yellow jersey. Standing at 194 centimeters tall, he stood out not only physically among the youth teams. From day one, he established himself as a regular in the U17 squad and, at the end of his first BVB season, celebrated winning the German U17 Championship with a 3-2 victory in the final against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Niko Kovac recognized the young defender’s talent early on, brought him into first-team training, and included him in the matchday squad for the first time on February 7, 2026. He made his debut in the closing seconds of the Bundesliga away match at VfL Wolfsburg (2-1). Ten days later, he made his first start in the Champions League home game against Atalanta Bergamo (2-0). Just three and a half weeks later, he experienced the joy of scoring in front of the “Gelbe Wand”: Luca Reggiani netted his first Bundesliga goal on March 14, 2026, in the home match against FC Augsburg: “That will remain an incredible feeling for the rest of my life.”
On March 20, 2026, the Italian signed his first professional contract. “BVB is one of the biggest clubs in the world. When I was asked to extend my contract, I didn’t hesitate,” Reggiani explained. And CEO Lars Ricken emphasized: “We are totally convinced of his abilities. We will continue this successful path together.”

Borussia Dortmund (since 2024), US Sassuolo (2016–2024), Castelvetro Calcio (2013–2016)
Luca Reggiani, born on January 9, 2008, in the northern Italian university city of Modena, joined the youth team of AC Castelvetro at the age of five. His parents drove him to every training session in the neighboring town. Just three years later, he was on the radar of US Sassuolo Calcio, who brought him into their youth academy in the summer of 2016. He stayed there for eight years before moving to Borussia Dortmund’s youth academy in 2024.
Reggiani describes himself as a family person. Luca has a twin sister. “We have a great relationship. I’m very proud to be part of this family,” he says, adding: “My parents and my sister are my biggest fans, my greatest supporters.”

On November 3, 2022, at the age of 14, he played for his home country for the first time. Since the U15s, he has played for all of Italy’s youth teams, and with the U17s, he took part in the 2025 World Cup (third place). In January 2026, he made his debut for the U19 team.
