Attacker Jayden Braaf will spend the remainder of the 2022/23 season on loan at Italian top-flight club Hellas Verona.

The 20-year-old Dutchman only joined Borussia Dortmund in the summer on a free transfer from Manchester City, but he has not yet managed to earn a place in Edin Terzic's first-team squad and – after a long injury layoff before the winter break – has instead been deployed in the U23 team coached by Christian Preusser.

BVB have granted the player's wish to continue his development in a top-flight European league and are counting on a positive second half of the season in Italy, where Braaf has already enjoyed a loan spell: he was loaned to Udinese Calcio from Manchester City in the spring of 2021, before a serious knee injury put him out of action for more than a year. "We have granted the player's wish to prove himself in a top league and will monitor his ongoing development," said Ingo Preuss, the sporting director of the U23s.
