Bremen sign Toprak on loan with option to buy

Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement with fellow Bundesliga club Werder Bremen over the immediate transfer of centre-back Ömer Toprak.

The 30-year-old will initially move on loan to the Weser for the 2019/20 season but both clubs have agreed a purchase option as part of the deal, which will take effect under realistic circumstances.

"We'd like to thank Ömer Toprak for his commitment and professionalism, and we'd like to wish him every success for his future in Bremen," said BVB sporting director Michael Zorc.
