Borussia Dortmund have won their second friendly match of training camp. When all was said and done, the scoreboard in Altach (Austria) read 11-2 (4-1) in favour of the Black & Yellows in their match-up against Austria Vienna. The goalscorers for BVB were Reyna (2), Guerreiro, Pherai, Sancho, Can, Wolf, Hazard, Bellingham, Duman and Schulz.

As in the previous match against SCR Altach, head coach Lucien Favre sent his team out with a four-man defensive live. Ansgar Knauff made his first-team debut out on the right wing. Erling Haaland was rested and underwent individual training back at BVB's base in Bad Ragaz.

BVB were on top early on and created their first goalscoring opportunity in the fifth minute, with Reyna testing Pentz in the Vienna goal. Three minutes later, a strong save from Dortmund goalkeeper Bürki was required to keep out Sakaria. Despite the close shave, the Black & Yellows were still the superior side and in the ninth minute they got their reward: Reyna surged through the centre of midfield, made his way into the box and fired a strong shot past Pentz and into the back of the net to give Dortmund a 1-0 lead. Reyna has now opened the scoring in two consecutive friendly matches: the American also grabbed the first goal of the match in Wednesday's encounter with SCR Altach.

Four minutes later, Guerreiro almost doubled the Dortmund lead, but Pentz was alert to the danger and managed to smother the ball before the full-back could get a shot away. Down the other end, Sakaria once again came close for the Austrians, but a well-timed sliding challenge from Akanji was enough to see the ball away for a corner. Instead, it was the dominant Black & Yellows that managed to find the second goal of the game: a smart back-heel from Akanji teed up Reyna, who applied the finishing touches to make it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. Austria had failed to make much of an impression going forward, but in the 33rd minute Monschein popped up with a header to bring them back to within a goal of BVB.

Despite the setback, Borussia continued to control the game. Good chances fell to Knauff (34th minute) and Reyna (39th), but both failed to convert. Instead it was the influential Guerreiro who got the goal his performance had deserved: the Portuguese received the ball at the edge of the box, surged towards goal and fired a shot home to make it 3-1 in the 41st minute. However,  the Black & Yellows weren't content to just sit back until half-time: the ever-present Guerreiro sent a cross towards Passlack, who was unable to get a shot away. He found Witsel, who dinked the ball over to Pherai to finish on the volley - his debut goal for the first team - and make it 4-1 at the interval.

Lucien Favre once again chose to switch his entire team at the break, but it made no difference to the Black & Yellows' dominance. The first chance of the half came in the 47th minute: the ball arrived at the feet of Wolf, who turned quickly in the box and unleashed a powerful shot that was denied by a strong hand from substitute Austria goalkeeper Kos. Six minutes later, Can was sent clear down the left-hand side. The midfielder waited for support and then sent an inch-perfect pass to the feet of Sancho, who applied the finishing touches to bring the score to 5-1. But the opposition from Vienna were able to conjure up a response: Jukic drilled the ball into the roof of the net from just outside the box to pull a goal back in the 54th minute. Not long afterwards, Raschl fired an outside-of-the-foot effort just over the ball. Then, in the 65th minute, Can got his head to a Sancho corner and sent the ball crashing in via the underside of the bar to make it 6-2.

The Black & Yellows were in no mood to stop there: some tidy play from Sancho gave Delaney a chance to shoot. Kos was able to deflect the ball away, but only as far as Can, who passed to right-back Wolf for an easy finish to make it 7-2. A few minutes later, Raschl was brought down in the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Hazard stepped up to convert and make it goal number eight for BVB. Then, in the 78th minute, Bellingham added another with a chipped finish over the goalkeeper after an assist from Sancho. Duman also got in on the act, scoring his debut goal for the first team after being teed up by Bellingham. In the 86th minute, Kos was able to make a last-ditch save to deny Raschl, but in the ensuing passage of play, he was powerless to prevent Schulz from firing home a volley to bring the score to 11-2.
