New signing Felix Nmecha spoke in an interview about his transfer to Borussia Dortmund, the style of play that sets him apart and the criticism directed at him in the lead-up to the move.

A warm welcome to BVB, Felix! What were the reasons for your transfer?
"I would like to take the next step. I believe that the squad, the coaches and the surroundings are really good. I of course also spoke with Sebastian Kehl and Hans-Joachim Watzke beforehand. I had a good feeling from the beginning and am really delighted."

What are you looking forward to the most?
"There are many things. Definitely playing in this stadium in front of these great fans. I'm looking forward to the feeling of being a BVB player and can hardly wait. I'm enthusiastic and looking forward to it."

What kind of player are you?
"I feel most comfortable in the centre. I try to work a lot for the team on and off the ball. In the process I want to play with self-confidence, always have the ball, be creative and fight for the team."

There was also some criticism that accompanied your signing. What do you say to that?
"I believe that some things were taken out of context. I'm a Christian, I love all people and I do not discriminate against anyone. I hope that the fans will give me the chance to get to know me."

What are hoping for from the future with BVB?
"I would like to continue my development and play many games for BVB. I'm hoping for titles and always want to win."
