Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement with FC Villarreal, currently eighth in La Liga, over the immediate transfer of Paco Alcácer. The forward travelled to Spain on Wednesday to undergo the compulsory medical check.

Alcácer, a 19-time international, initially joined BVB on loan from FC Barcelona in August 2018 and the transfer was later made permanent. He scored 23 goals in 37 Bundesliga appearances.

“We would like to thank Paco Alcácer for his performances in a BVB shirt and wish him good health and every sporting success for the future,” said Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc.
