Borussia Dortmund made amends for their away defeat against Union Berlin last time out and now have more points after four matches (9) than they did at the same stage of last season (8). Here are the match facts.

Favourite foe: BVB have now won four consecutive Bundesliga matches against Bayer Leverkusen for the first time.

Double landmark: Marco Reus bagged a brace to take his scorer point total in the Bundesliga to 200 (119 goals, 81 assists). It was also his 100th win in 167 Bundesliga matches for the Black & Yellows.

Goals galore: Paco Alcácer has scored in every single one of his eight appearances at club and international level this term, netting 10 times in total. The only previous Dortmund players to score five goals in the opening four matches of a season were Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (2015/16) and Lothar Emmerich (1967/68).

Top assister: Jadon Sancho set up two goals to take his assist tally to five for the season. Since data was first collected in 1992/93, no Dortmund player has ever set up so many goals in the opening four matches of a campaign. Sancho even overtook Tomas Rosicky, who notched four assists in the first four games of the 2001/02 season.

Good crosser: Achraf Hakimi has set up four Bundesliga goals with crosses – all against Bayer Leverkusen. He did so today for Paco Alcácer's opener.

Home fortress: Borussia have scored at least two goals in every Bundesliga home game under Lucien Favre and have won both home games this season by a four-goal margin.

First start: Raphael Guerreiro was handed his first start of the Bundesliga season and scored to put his side 3-0 up in the 83rd minute.

Rare defeat: Bayer Leverkusen suffered their first defeat in over five months (4-2 loss to Leipzig at the start of April). It was their biggest margin of defeat since April 2018, when they also lost away to BVB by a 4-0 scoreline. (br)
