Season-ending injury for Hakimi, Diallo out too

Borussia Dortmund's perfect weekend has been tainted by the news that full-back Achraf Hakimi will miss the remainder of the season with a broken metatarsal. He will be joined on the sidelines − albeit for a shorter period − by fellow defender Abdou Diallo.

Hakimi replaced the injured Diallo in the 2-0 victory over VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday but was substituted himself 24 minutes later after sustaining a broken metatarsal. The Morocco international will undergo an operation in Madrid and miss the remainder of the season.

Centre-back Diallo suffered a muscle injury and will be unavailable too, although it is not yet clear for how long.

Süle joined Dortmund in the summer of 2022 and reached the Champions League final with BVB. Against Frankfurt, Süle played his 300th Bundesliga match, his 110th competitive game for BVB. \u201cA man who, like few others, embodies power, passion and emotion. It was his first goal in the Bundesliga. The 18-year-old Italian had initially been stopped on the edge of the box, but his teammates kept pressing.
