Yan Couto to miss out with muscle injury

BVB player Yan Couto has suffered minor injuries to his gluteal muscles in training and is likely to be unavailable for 10 to 14 days. This was announced by BVB coach Nuri Sahin at the press conference prior to the match against St. Pauli.

In addition to Couto, Karim Adeyemi, Gio Reyna and Julien Duranville remain sidelined. There are still question marks hanging over some other players with regard to the match on Friday evening: Maximilian Beier has returned from the U21 national team with an illness. But he is already doing better again according to Sahin, as is Julian Ryerson, who had been suffering from flu. Niklas Süle had to sit out training due to a gastrointestinal infection. "It will be a race against time. But we hope that we will be available on Friday," Sahin said. (cr)
