Fan information for the away match in Heidenheim

BVB will play away to 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 on Saturday (1 February, kick-off 15:30 CET). Around 2,000 BVB fans will make the trip from Dortmund to support BVB at the Voith-Arena. We have summarised the most important information for all fans travelling with the team.

Arrival

Travelling by train

Free bus shuttles run from the main railway station in Heidenheim or the neighbouring ZOB to the Voith Arena from two hours before the match.

Travelling by car

Address for the satnav: In der Schwende 6 in 89522 Heidenheim
The guest car park for cars is located at the SV Mergelstetten sports facilities. From here it is approx. 10 to 15 minutes on foot to the away section. The car park is free of charge.

Travelling by nine-seater car

Address for the satnav: Heerackerweg 23 in 89522 Heidenheim
The car park for nine-seaters is located at the "Baseball-Ballpark." From there it is approx. 300 metres on foot to the away section.
The car park is free of charge.

Travelling by bus and coach

Address for the satnav: Heerackerweg 23 in 89522 Heidenheim
Coaches park directly at the entrance to the away section. Access is from above the Voith Arena, via the ‘Baseball Ballpark’ or the FCH training grounds ‘Heeräcker’ (see signs). Once there, follow the narrow road until you arrive directly at the away section. Stewards will direct you to the car park. The car park is free of charge.
Due to the tense traffic situation in Heidenheim, we recommend that you only leave the A7 motorway at exit 117 ‘Giengen Herbrechtingen’.

Information on departure

In order to facilitate a speedy departure by car, nine-seater or bus, away fans are requested to leave the visitors' car park in the direction of Mergelstetten via Buchhofsteige and join the motorway via the B19 in Giengen/Herbrechtingen.

Admission

The stadium opens at 13:30 CET. Please plan to arrive early.
BVB fans can use the standing area E1 as well as the seats in blocks D2 and E2.
The entrance is located in the south-west of the Voith-Arena.

Permitted fan paraphernalia

Five drums (already allocated)
Three megaphones (already allocated)
10 large waving flags (stick length greater than 2 metres)
Small flags (max. 2m stick length, up to 3cm diameter)
Double holders (max. 2m stick length, up to 3cm diameter)
Fence flags (as long as space is available; not higher than 1.5m, advertising boards cannot be covered)

Tetrapak under 0.5 litres (non-alcoholic drinks only)
Fanny packs, rucksacks and bags up to DIN A4 size

Items not permitted

Weapons and dangerous objects
Anti-constitutional, racist, xenophobic, extremist, discriminatory, right-wing or left-wing extremist propaganda material, even if it is not criminally relevant; this may also include the wearing of clothing or the wearing of emblems or symbols on or on clothing.
Pyrotechnics of any kind
Alcoholic beverages and drugs of any kind
Umbrellas
Photo and video cameras and equipment of any kind
Rucksacks and large bags larger than DIN A4. There will be a free drop-off point at the stadium. However, due to the limited capacity, 1. FC Heidenheim requests that rucksacks and bags be left in the car/bus if possible.

Information for a barrier-free visit to the stadium

Fans in wheelchairs can park their cars directly at the away entrance. A blue parking permit is required for this.
The reportage for the blind can also be received in the away section; audio guide systems can be borrowed for a deposit.

Other information

The wearing of clothing or fan articles of the visiting club is prohibited in the home section of 1. FC Heidenheim. The stewards are authorised to intervene in the event of any incidents and to remove visiting fans from these areas.
The escape routes in the away section (stairs marked in blue) must be kept clear at all times.
Full-strength beer will be served in the away section.
Fans with a national or local stadium ban are not permitted to enter the Voith Arena. As a rule, they may remain by the buses in front of the away section.
Only cashless and contactless payment is permitted in the stadium.
Obviously intoxicated persons will not be allowed into the stadium. Random checks will also be carried out using a breathalyser.

BVB had won the last seven meetings between the sides..<\/p>\n<img src=\"/content/dam/bvbweb/en/news/2025/12/14/bl-spielbericht/14-Freiburg-3.jpg\" data-assetref=\"14-Freiburg-3-1765726159658\"><\/p>\nPersonnel matters:  <\/b> \nFor the first time this season, the team was missing four players: Aaron Anselmino, Waldemar Anton, Julian Brandt and Marcel Sabitzer were all unavailable. Maximilian Beier returned to the bench. Emre Can, Julian Ryerson, Carney Chukwuemeka and Serhou Guirassy joined the team. <\/p>\nTactics:  <\/b>As in the Champions League, BVB started with two strikers (Fabio Silva alongside Guirassy) and a number 10, with Chukwuemeka primarily operating from the inside-left. In the four-strong midfield line behind them, Ryerson moved to the left side. Freiburg also met Dortmund's 3-4-1-2 with a back three or back five. Both attacked high and the two sides gave each other hardly any air to breathe in the first 30 minutes. Ginter was always close to Guirassy, Jung moved out of the back line when Fabio Silva dropped deep, which the Dortmund player often did, receiving balls in the middle of the park. Borussia came forward mainly down the right wing, via the agile Couto.<\/p>\n<img src=\"/content/dam/bvbweb/en/news/2025/12/14/bl-spielbericht/14-Freiburg-1.jpg\" data-assetref=\"14-Freiburg-1-1765726138427\"><\/p>\nThe match & analysis: \n <\/b>From the very first minute on, the match was played at a high intensity. After just ten minutes, Couto and Manzambi saw yellow cards for a tussle on the touchline. There were also fiery scenes on the pitch: Guirassy headed a well-timed Fabio Silva cross just past the left post in the 9th minute, and shortly afterwards, Manzambi beat Can around the left hand corner of the six yard box, but he did not get enough behind his shot, meaning that Kobel could easily stop it on 9 minutes.<\/p>\nBorussia Dortmund had enjoyed 66 percent of the possession in the first 20 minutes \u2013 and also carved out the first big chance. After a one-two with Guirassy, Chukwuemeka took aim from an acute angle, but his shot hit the side netting in the 21st minute. Shortly afterwards, Can earned the chance to open the scoring as a result of some high pressing, which caused Freiburg to lose the ball in their half, but his shot from 17 metres was not accurate or powerful enough on 24 minutes. After exactly half an hour, the Black & Yellows were rewarded for their courageous performance: Couto struck a free kick from the right side into the box, Bensebaini chested the ball down and prodded it over the line to make it 1-0 in the 31st minute. Even though BVB was clearly in the driver\u2019s seat, Freiburg consistently looked dangerous on the counter, and shortly before the break, Günter had his side\u2019s third and best chance to score an equaliser, but the hosts\u2019 captain fired horribly wide in the 45th minute.<\/p>\n<img src=\"/content/dam/bvbweb/en/news/2025/12/14/bl-spielbericht/14-Freiburg-4.jpg\" data-assetref=\"14-Freiburg-4-1765726122396\"><\/p>\nEight minutes after the restart, Jobe Bellingham saw a red card. After a risky pass from Kobel, the Englishman tried to put his body in the way 19 metres out in front of his own goal, but caught Treu, who was bursting forward at pace, and was given his marching orders by referee Zwayer for preventing a clear goalscoring opportunity. It was Bellingham\u2019s first foul in the game. Günter fired the resulting free kick just past the left-hand post.<\/p>\nBVB responded to going a man down by bringing on Pascal Groß for Fabio Silva, and had hardly any extended periods of possession thereafter. The match took place almost entirely in the Dortmund half. Kobel brilliantly tipped a follow-up shot from Treu around the post in the 69th minute, and also showed strong reactions to save Suzuki\u2019s shot, which had taken a wicked deflection off Bensebaini, in the 74th minute. But 60 seconds later, Freiburg were celebrating the equaliser Höler did well to get on the end of Günter\u2019s cross and finished brilliantly, finding the far post.
