Pre-Match Report

Countdown to the Match at Union Berlin

Borussia Dortmund faces Union Berlin on the road on the sixth matchday of the Bundesliga and is looking to secure its next Bundesliga victory at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. Kickoff is on Saturday afternoon (17 Oct.) at 3:30 p.m. Until kickoff, you can find all the key information about the match here.

Current Situation: Record Start Possible

Despite the late 2-2 draw against Werder Bremen last matchday, BVB can tie its own points record after six matchdays on Saturday. The team has earned 16 points from its first six games three times before, most recently in 2017-18—never before has it achieved more at such an early stage of the season.

Head-to-Head: Turnaround in the Most Recent Away Match

Borussia Dortmund has won all of its Bundesliga matches against Union Berlin at home at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. At the Alte Försterei, however, the record against the “Eisernen” looks quite different! Of seven Bundesliga away matches in Berlin-Köpenick so far, BVB has lost four. However, in January of this year, the Black and Yellows won the most recent away match 3–0.

Furthermore, whenever Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Union Berlin have faced off in the Bundesliga, there has never been a draw. None of the 14 Bundesliga matches between the two teams has ended in a tie. No other matchup in Bundesliga history has occurred so frequently without the points ever being shared.

Jerseys: BVB in Yellow

Borussia Dortmund will take the field in their yellow home jerseys (visit the online store). The home team from Berlin will welcome BVB in their red home jerseys.
