Training: Short Prep for Elversberg
Since early October, BVB has been facing one midweek match after another. The home game against SVE will be the ninth competitive match in a month. Following the 2-1 home win against Real Betis in the UEFA Champions League, Friday morning’s session marked the final training session. As head coach Niko Kovac reported, all players present were “in good shape.” The team is “ready and fit” for the next big challenge.
Facts: Strong Record Against Promoted Teams
In recent years, Borussia Dortmund has generally performed well against Bundesliga promoted teams. Of their last seven Bundesliga matches against league newcomers, the Black and Yellows have won six, with one ending in a draw. Their most recent match against a promoted team ended in September with a 3-0 home win against SC Paderborn.
Referee: Osmers to officiate
Harm Osmers will referee the match. He will be assisted by Christian Gittelmann and Julius Martenstein. Florian Exner will serve as the fourth official. Patrick Hanslbauer has been assigned as the video assistant referee.
Weather: Autumnal and cold
With a high of eight degrees, it will be autumnal and cold in Dortmund on Saturday afternoon. Bright sunshine is also forecast.
Jerseys: Yellow vs. White and Black
Borussia Dortmund will take the field in their yellow home jerseys with black shorts and yellow socks (visit the online store). The visitors from Elversberg will wear white-and-black jerseys, paired with white shorts and white socks.
Getting There: Parking Tickets Sold Out – Public Transportation Ticket Included
Anyone traveling by car should note that all parking tickets for spaces at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK and the Westfalenhallen are already sold out. It is not possible to purchase parking tickets on-site. Vehicles without a valid parking ticket will be turned away at the entrances by security staff. If you park on surrounding streets, please note: Anyone who parks illegally or disregards no-parking zones risks having their vehicle towed at their own expense.
BVB recommends carpooling or traveling by public transit. The admission ticket includes the DSW21 combo ticket for travel to and from the event via public transit throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. This also applies to holders of plastic season tickets. Holders of a Print@Home ticket or a Mobile Ticket must carry a public transit ticket in addition to their admission ticket; this can be ordered online for free on this page.
Eye Exam: Free Promotion
At the home game, BVB partner Essilor, together with Apollo, is inviting children and families to free eye exams. The event will take place in the promotional areas on the West concourse and in the REWE Family Section. All participants will receive a voucher for a professional eye exam at participating Essilor opticians and at Apollo. There will also be prizes to win, such as children’s eyeglass frames, a BVB jersey, or a scarf.
Spectators: Sold-Out Home Game
The home game against the league newcomer is once again sold out, with 81,365 tickets sold. SV Elversberg itself has fully utilized its guest allocation and is expected to bring around 8,000 fans to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK—more than the number of residents in Elversberg.
Tickets: Secondary Market Open
Anyone who wants to be at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK but doesn’t yet have a ticket has a chance to get one on the official BVB secondary market. There, ticket holders can legally list their season tickets or single-game tickets for resale in the BVB ticket shop up to two and a half hours before kickoff if they are unable to attend SIGNAL IDUNA PARK in person. The ticket does not need to be physically handed over, as it is electronically deactivated and then activated for the new holder.
