BVB and Teikyo University extend regional partnership agreement

As BVB’s first academic and research partner in Japan, Teikyo University has been running the Borussia Dortmund program since 2018 as part of its global human resources development, mainly for students from the Faculty of Economics. Now both partners have extended the partnership agreement.

The program consists of lectures and seminars in Dortmund for 30 students. Lectures at Teikyo Unitersity are held by a representative of Borussia Dortmund’s marketing department or SPORTFIVE. In addition, the BVB Evonik Football Academy is organizing one-day training camps for 64 students in Japan. With the renewal of the contract, the participation as a partner of BVB’s Asia Tour 2024 has been added to the program to provide a learning opportunity for the University's students through a tour experience.

Yoshihito Okinaga, President of Teikyo University, says: “We are delighted that the partnership agreement between Borussia Dortmund and Teikyo University has been renewed. To date, we recognise that this is the result of many achievements in student education and academic collaboration through our activities with BVB. Through our partnership with BVB, we, Teikyo University, would like to further enhance our university's education, research and social contribution activities based on practical learning, internationality and openness.”

Carsten Cramer, BVB Managing Director, adds: “We are very pleased about the renewal of the partnership agreement, which shows that BVB's initiatives in Japan are highly valued. The academic partnership to date has been meaningful for both Teikyo University and BVB and we look forward to seeing more students enhance their practical learning through the continuation of this partnership and to welcoming them to Dortmund as soon as possible.”
