The Year 2008 In Review: May - Thomas Doll Leaves BVB, Jürgen Klopp The New Borussen Coach
"I am very happy to be here. It´s an honour", Klopp says on his first day with BVB. The former Mainz coach says: "I want to help now put the club
back on the right track. The players have to develop to play the football the spectator want to see. But I also know we also have to be successful as well..." Klopp knows that he will have to live up to his words - and today we already know that he can manage to do so.
But there is also sad news for the club in May 2008. BVB´s first World Champion has passed away. Heinrich Kwiatkowski died after long suffering at the age of 81. Dortmund and all football supporters in Germany mourn the death of one of the fairest footballers in the country. Kwiatkowsi was born in 1926 in Westphalia and lived in the St. Josef´s Home for Old People in Dortmund-Derne through the last few years of his life.
